22.4. InnoWebinar: Background and Foreground in research projects
When planning a new research project, you are often asked to provide a list of background data. In the funding application, you must also describe what kinds of results data the project will produce.
Background data becomes particularly important once funding has been granted, when agreements need to be drawn up between project partners. Foreground data, in turn, must be reported to the funder during the project and after it has ended.
What do background and foreground actually mean – and why do they matter?
In the InnoWebinar, you will get answers to questions such as:
What is meant by background foreground in research projects?
Why do these data need to be identified and listed – and why is this important?
What kinds of background might you have in your own projects?
The webinar is useful for researchers who are preparing funding applications, for example to EU programmes or Business Finland.
The webinar will be conducted by Maarit Jokela and Pekka Räsänen, IPR Managers of the University of Oulu.
