Business Finland has opened the partnership model funding call for Co-Research projects – Together we can better meet the needs of leading companies!

Business Finland’s partnership model funding call for Co-Research projects is open until March 31, 2026. The Leading Company calls are based on ecosystems where global leading companies spearhead extensive RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) initiatives and create roadmaps around which partnership projects are built.

This funding offers a unique opportunity to combine expertise from various scientific disciplines into strategic and disruptive projects that enhance the competitiveness of Finnish companies. The themes of these flagship projects broadly address future challenges, such as the industrial metaverse, green energy, hydrogen technology, artificial intelligence, circular economy, food technology, nanomaterials, and marine industry. The projects also emphasize areas like learning development in industrial environments, ethical implications of technology use, and the role of sustainability and data in business models.

Therefore, the projects require diverse research expertise that bridges multiple disciplines, including:

  • Engineering and Natural Sciences: ICT, energy, materials, chemistry, biology

  • Business Studies: business models, data economy, investment profitability

  • Educational Sciences: learning, change management

  • Humanities: ethical implications, user experience

Interdisciplinary collaboration between faculties ensures we bring the best experts and teams into the projects, enabling your initiative to better meet the needs of leading companies.

The Innovation Centre supports researchers in project preparation and helps find suitable partners

  • Contact the Innovation Centre if you already have a Co-Research project that needs additional expertise and sparring.

  • The sparring process culminates in a workshop at the Business Finland Champions Awards on March 10, 2026 (registration opens soon), where we aim to invite leading companies. The event also offers a chance to meet Business Finland representatives and fellow researchers.

  • Together, we can advance your project and seek additional expertise even before the event — so get in touch as soon as possible!
