More Proof-of-Concept funding available!
The city of Oulu recently made a decision to finance PoC (Proof-of-Concept) activities for the next three years at the University of Oulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences and OSAO. The total amount is €150,000/year, of which the University of Oulu shares €100,000.
The city of Oulu has participated in PoC activities in three educational institutions in the Oulu region since 2020.
This year, a total of €300,000 in funding from the University of Oulu and the City of Oulu will be distributed. In addition, New Innovation Initiatives (NII) funding will be distributed for the same purpose in connection with the subject area of the 6GESS (6G Enabling Sustanable Society) project (6G, energy, health).
What is the funding used for?
PoC and NII funding aims to make the first implementation of an invention or idea. The purpose of the funding is to improve the conditions for creating research and student-oriented business opportunities.
PoC and NII funding are not suitable for supporting basic research.
When can you apply?
The PoC and NII funding application was opened in January and so far funding has been awarded to 6 different projects. The call is still ongoing. Funding is still to be applied for several different projects.
You can apply for funding as long as it is left. The PoC funding must be used by the end of November and the NII funding by the end of December 2026.
