Business Finland and several European partnership programmes are currently offering a wide range of funding opportunities for researchers and research groups interested in strengthening collaboration with companies and international networks. Below are selected open calls that align well with the University of Oulu’s research strengths — particularly in the areas of sustainability, energy transition, digitalisation, and industrial innovation.
EDF and NATO: Information session on RDI activities
Time and place: 15 January 2026, Team Finland House, Porkkalankatu 1 and online.
You are warmly invited to hear about the international opportunities offered by the European Defence Fund (EDF) and NATO’s research, development and innovation activities. The event also offers the possibility to participate remotely.
EUREKA Co-Innovation Call for R&D projects: Sustainable Cities
Call open: until 22 January 2026.
This EUREKA network call seeks projects that promote sustainable, low-carbon, and resilient urban solutions.
EUREKA Xecs 5 – Electronics and Semiconductors
Call open: 22 January 2026 (Project Outline phase); full proposal by 16 April 2026
Xecs is a EUREKA cluster programme supporting R&D projects in electronics, semiconductors, and intelligent systems.
6G Bridge and Quantum
Call open: 6G Bridge until 31 December 2026, Quantum campaign until 30 June 2026.
Business Finland’s 6G Bridge programme and Quantum campaign invite research organisations to strengthen their cooperation with strategic international research ecosystems. The new research fields of 6G and quantum technologies are truly global, and international research collaboration will align our future competences with the needs of key players.
EP PerMed Partnership Call JTC2026 Personalised Medicine for CARdiovascular, MEtabolic, and kidNey diseases
Call open: Pre-proposal by 12 January 2026 and full proposal by 27 April 2026.
The aim of this EU co-funded call is to bring together companies and clinical stakeholders – such as healthcare providers, patients and researchers – to test innovative solutions in controlled real-life environments addressing the needs of managing multiple chronic conditions.
