The latest Business Finland Research to Business (R2B) call closed on 16 September 2026. Researchers from the University of Oulu submitted a total of nine applications, seeking a combined €4.85 million in Business Finland funding.
"The latest call attracted a remarkably high number of applications, approaching record levels", say Janne Haverinen and Markku Känsäkoski, Business Development Specialists at the Innovation Centre.
"We are also very pleased to see a broader range of disciplines represented this time. Applications from technical fields are usually strongly represented, but this round also included projects from fields such as education and business", Janne adds.
The next R2B call will open in early 2027. Janne and Markku encourage researchers to get in touch with them at an early stage if they are interested in commercialising their research or applying for funding.
"Whether you are planning to apply in the next R2B call, a future round, or commercialise your research through another route, it is worth contacting us as early as possible. In addition to R2B, we offer many other ways to support researchers. We can discuss, for example, Proof of Concept (PoC) funding or other commercialisation pathways that may later lead to an R2B application. Together, we can identify the best path forward for your case."
